A passionate pilgrim XII By Shakespeare

Crabbed age and youth cannot live together:
Youth is full of pleasure, age is full of care;
Youth like summer morn, age like winter weather;
Youth like summer brave, age like winter bare.
Youth is full of sport, age’s breath is short;
Youth is nimble, age is lame;
Youth is hot and bold, age is weak and cold;
Youth is wild, and age is tame.
Age, I do abhor thee, youth, I do adore thee;
O, my love, my love is young!
Age, I do defy thee: O, sweet shepherd, hie thee,
For methinks thou stay’st too long!

I love this poem. According to me, this poem doesn’t only represent a love story, but also a spirit of life. I admire the way Shakespeare compare and combine between two conditions. Those are age and young. It is true that age is different with young. The young hood is full of spirit and high power. But when someone is getting old, he will lose almost his power. He will need somebody to “participate” his life a lot and more than when he was young.
But love is never been old. It is going to be young all the time. The love cannot be recognized as an age. Love will always blossom like a flower in the spring. it will not flow as your age getting older. You will never recognize that you are getting older, as long as your love is still in your heart.
This is, as I said that Shakespeare spoiled the readers all over the universe with his wonderful masterpiece.
